Ben Ashwell Software Engineer MEng Software Engineering graduate currently working as a consultant at Capgemini, after graduating from Aberystwyth university with a 2:1. I have sound experience with customers and fellow employees in the Computing industry shown through my employment. Looking for opportunities to further build upon my knowledge and be involved in cutting edge and exciting projects.

Software Engineer - June 2015 to present Working as a Software Engineering Consultant, with roles at National Railway Agencies and Worldwide Distribution Service Companies, carrying out varied roles such as PMO, Tester and Performance Measurement. In most recent role I was part of an agile team that liaise with the client to refine linear support tool requirements and test said tool to find and report defects. Fully understand the data to make informed decisions on the tool. I was required to communicate with colleagues around the globe during my PMO role, I was also involved in creating Statement of Works and managing the project changes. The most vital part of this role however was creatind and managing invoices, tracking and month end reviews for the project. Working for a global company promotes self managment, this has allowed me to work on skills such as managing my own time, career progression and skill enhancement.
Technocamps
Software Technician - June 2012 to June 2014 Creating and teaching Computer Science themed workshops and three day bootcamps to pupils aged between 11 and 19 in Aberystwyth and the surrounding area. Running a Weekly club session for pupils interested in technology and robotics, encouraging creation and programming. Twice a year we would run a `Competition' for every pupil to show what they have achieved. Fully document workshops and bootcamps to be used by other members of the team and to be part of the Technocamps Legacy - www.technocamps.com.

Junior Refrigeration Engineer - Summer 2008 to Summer 2012 Repaired and installed Refrigeration and Air Conditioning equipment in London and surrounding areas to clients such as Thomson Reuters, Shell, KPMG and Goldman Sachs in a two to five man group; and provide fully written reports for the end user to ensure equipment is left in working order and to detail all work done whilst on site. Regular work on blue chip client sites to create and maintain a secure working environment and withhold good company image. Developed communication and team working skills by liaising with clients and colleagues on and off site.

Java (SE and EE) and JUnit - 6 Years Object Orientated programming was the main point of study at university and shown through projects such as my 8-Puzzle solver using AI techniques. Continued to use for personal projects and learning to use GUI packages.
